We are super excited to announce that the Myra Taylor Herron Fund has exceeded its goal since launching the crowdfunding campaign on July 1! The amazing support that we have received from friends, family and alumni of Gettysburg College is truly overwhelming, but we are not finished. This fund has been able to garner the support of members from a variety of Gettysburg College alumni classes and friends, which is a testament to how committed we all are to providing the Gettysburg Great experience for every student in need of support. To celebrate reaching our initial goal in less than 15 days, the Myra Taylor Herron Fund has decided to INCREASE the goal to $10,000!
We are so thankful that we have achieved our initial goal and are so grateful for your participation and support during this campaign.
If you have not had a moment to visit the Gettysburg College homepage to read the College’s feature of the Myra Taylor Herron Fund, check it out! The article explains our motivation and reasoning for honoring the fund after Mrs. Herron’s legacy and her significant contributions to Gettysburg while serving as the College’s first African-American woman to graduate in 1967. Thank you to all of our supporters. Your contribution to this campaign means more than words can explain. We kindly ask you to share this with your friends, family, and colleagues, so that they too can see the importance of supporting many of our students, who often lack the access to amazing co-curricular opportunities that Gettysburg College offers!
