STEM Scholar Laptops
Gettysburg College is working to raise at least $15,000 to support the acquisition of laptops for all of the students participating in our new STEM Scholars program. The goal of the STEM Scholars program is to increase the number of talented STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) majors that are first-generation college students or from minority groups that are traditionally underrepresented in the STEM fields, and to support them to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in a broad range of scientific endeavors.
The College, assisted by a generous grant from the National Science Foundation, will be providing significant financial aid to the students, and they will have a number of tailored opportunities to assist them to thrive in their chosen STEM major at Gettysburg College. For more information about the STEM Scholars program as a whole, look here.
Additionally, we want to ensure that this first cohort of ten students does not face any technological barriers to their success. To make sure that their time at Gettysburg College is on equal footing to their peers from the very beginning, we would like to provide each STEM Scholar student with a laptop computer that they can use in their coursework. This is where your help comes in.
